Patrícia Mendonça & Sítio Três Barras da Mantiqueira
Our new Brazil comes from Patrícia Mendonça, who became part of our stable offer throughout the last 4 years. Patrícia is a lawyer and a business administrator from São Paulo, who worked at the financial market for several years until her first daughter was born. Her husband Luiz Guilherme Mendonça has worked as a business administrator in an investment bank for many years.
‘’We have always wanted to acquire rural property in order to have a second activity. The opportunity finally arose back in 2016, when we started working at our farm Três Barras da Mantiqueira within São Sebastião da Grama municipality. It was quite challenging at the beginning to understand all the dynamics of the coffee cycle. Working at a farm and taking care of the full process may sound simple, but as far as I can tell with conviction, it certainly is not. We’ve been working hard for four years so far, going through various challenges such as changing employees or getting the trust of the partners in town. You are always seen as an outsider in a small town, especially if you come from São Paulo.
Anyway, there were so many challenges, that each victory was an overcoming, and added certainty of being able to do better work, respecting our employees, our partners and especially our nature. The certainty that love and respect for the coffee plantation and surrounding nature would give us great joy.
