  • This coffee is from the October 2019 harvest, and is fresh crop for this region.

    Ekimuli means flower in Luganda, a widely spoken language in Uganda. It is from the Rwenzori Mountains, also known as the Mountains of the Moon. The coffee is processed at a modern and central drying station focused solely on naturals. The Ekimuli coffees have a recognisable flavour profile of mild fermentation with berry-like and floral characters. This coffee is based on a flavour profile rather than tied to a specific location. The cherries can come from different locations, but always have to meet the criteria on quality and traceability. We expect to be able to buy coffee with this type of profile regularly. All the farmers that contributes with cherries are part of a buying program in parishes (local villages) around the Kasese area. The coffee cherries are selected based on quality and sustainability programs with the smallholders. After reception the cherries are floated and dried on raised beds with continuous sorting. Drying can take from 10-25 days depending on the amount of rain and sun during the harvest period.
