The Miners Plaza de España marks our arrival in Madrid — a city that takes its coffee seriously and its mornings at its own pace. Tucked on Calle de Ventura Rodríguez, steps from the grand sweep of Plaza de España. Whitewashed brick, a terracotta-tiled bar, arched openings giving the long bright space a gentle rhythm. Round oak tables, curved wooden chairs, sculptural stools against exposed granite walls, trailing plants, a newspaper left on a side table.
