Story

Sequoia Farm is located in the North of Minas Gerais in the Chapada de Minas, a region that favours cherries at an altitude of 950 to 1,200 m.

Managed by the Lima’s Family, the farm continues the legacy of João Alves de Lima, precursor of palate for the coffee cherry, which passed from father to son. It is the second generation of coffee lovers with the aim of producing high quality coffees.

The farm itself covers 3,898 hectares, of which 2,692 are preserved areas and 1,206 are for coffee production. Grown at the highest point of the Chapada de Minas at Minas Gerais plateau, between the Cerrado and the Atlantic Forest, coffee produced at Sequóia Farm fascinates with its remarkable and lasting sensation. The harvests incorporate the flavour of the altitude, sustainability and richness of species processed with excellence, resulting in a clean and distinctive taste.

In this extension, where you can reach by car or by plane, 53 farmlands originate differentiated terroirs. In search of a characteristic and high quality flavour, we cultivate several varieties of coffees - unique species, accompanied with affection since the planting.

Sustainability

“Our irrigated lands are in the final stages of preparation. With our own supply dam, our goal is to irrigate 90% of the productive extension.

Much of the special flavours comes from the surrounding nature, which should be repaid. We have a much larger preservation area than production area - a practice certified by the Rainforest Alliance, BSCA (Brazil Specialty Coffee Association) and UTZ - stamps dedicated to conserving biodiversity, the well-being of workers and the sustainability of natural resources”. says João.
