Story

Franco Alexis Garzón was born and raised in the coffee-growing region of Gaitania, Tolima. Inspired by the work of his parents, he chose to continue their legacy.

Today, he works alongside his family at Finca Las Rosas, where traditional practices are combined with modern specialty coffee techniques. Franco's dream is to elevate the global reputation of Tolima coffee and create better opportunities for local growers.

Region & Farm

Region

Planadas–Gaitania, Tolima Region

Steep Andean slopes, nutrient-rich volcanic soils, cool, misty climate and altitudes between 1800–2000 masl. Tolima is shaped by smallholder farmers whose knowledge is passed down through generations, maintaining traditional agroforestry and biodiversity.

Farm

Las Rosas is a family-run farm where Franco and his family work with exceptional dedication. The focus is on sustainability, meticulous selection, and a balance between tradition and innovation. Their mission is consistency, quality, and long-term improvement for the broader Planadas–Gaitania community.

Processing & Flavor

Geisha Variety.
Selective handpicking at peak ripeness.
Cherries were depulped the same day and fermented for 36 hours in concrete tanks, developing delicate floral and fruity notes.
After fermentation, the coffee was fully washed and dried for around 15 days on shaded raised beds until reaching 10–11% moisture.
Then stabilized for 10 days before being packed.
The result – clean and elegantly floral profile.

The Taste Idea

"Our goal was to express the natural elegance and purity of this Geisha.
Chamomile, yellow plums, Irsay Oliver, notes of orange blossom and long silky finish.
A balanced, clean and complex cup that beautifully represents the Tolima region and its potential."

Jan Jim Huza - Head Roaster.
