Region & Farm
Region
Yirgacheffe, Gedeo is located in south Ethiopian Gedeo zone within SNNPR (Southern Nations, Nationalities and People's Region). Altitudes above 2000 masl and nutrient-rich volcanic soils. These conditions make the region one of the best origins for high-quality heirloom varieties.
Washing Station
Wete Ambela washing station owned by Wete Ambela Coffee Export PLC is located at 2050 masl in Wete village, Konga district. The station handles around 54 tons of coffee per year from surrounding farms. Strict cherry selection and careful lot separation ensure a consistent, clean and refined cup.
Processing and Taste
The coffee undergoes a washed process. Handpicked cherries sorted in water channels and by hand, then get pulped and soaked for 8 to 12 hours in concrete tanks. The drying then proceeds over the next 11 to 14 days on raised beds, depending on actual weather.
Flavor Profile
Classic washed ethiopian profile with acidity which reminds us of lemonade, stone fruits and rhubarb with raspberry like sweetness. Delicate florals like white tea and white flowers are complementing the final cup.
