The Oromia region stretches across the southwestern Ethiopian highlands at altitudes of 2,000-2,100 masl. The Jimma zone is shaped primarily by smallholder farmers whose knowledge is passed down through generations, maintaining traditional cultivation practices that define the character of this exceptional origin.
Farm
Mohammed Aba Nura manages his 35.7-hectare farm in Omafuntulay Kebele, Jimma zone, with a rare combination of traditional wisdom and modern agronomic expertise. His goal extends beyond his own farm as he actively invests in the development of the surrounding community. Over the past four harvests, his lots have consistently stood out in quality, leading us to support him directly and purchase his entire production for the second year in a row.
Processing
The Gibirinna 74110 & Serto 74112 varieties were developed by JARC (Jimma Agricultural Research Center) back in 1974 for their resistance to Coffee Berry Disease. The cherries are selectively handpicked at peak ripeness and dried on raised African beds at 2,173 masl. Drying takes between 15 and 20 days, with cherries turned frequently to ensure maximum consistency. The result is a clean, elegant and floral profile.

" Mohammed's fresh harvest didn't hold back on its florals and stone fruit character and that's exactly what I focused on while roasting. Our tasting notes lean toward nectarines with a medium acidity, florals, and a high sweetness reminiscent of Lotus biscuits. Clean and complex cup makes a perfect reflection of Mohammed coffees and the Jimma zone. "
