SAME RAMBLA & THE SEA END
One kilometre of plane trees runs from Gran Via down to the water, and The Miners Rambla del Poblenou Sur holds the bottom end of it. Our tenth address in Barcelona, and the second on this rambla — the first one opened the city for us. Poblenou was factories and warehouses before it was studios and start-ups, and the street still carries both. Specialty coffee, matcha, brunch from the morning. Bogatell is ten minutes down the road: come before the beach or after it.
WHERE BARCELONA STARTED Our first Barcelona coffee shop opened at the top of Rambla del Poblenou, by Gran Via. Nine locations later, the tenth landed on the same rambla — at the other end, by the sea. A kilometre of plane trees between the first and the newest. We looked at the whole city and came back to this street.
THE RAMBLA GETS BRUNCH Coffee has been on this rambla for years. Brunch arrives with us. Sit down properly, order too much, give the morning an hour. Poblenou eats late — we open early anyway.
