Rio Pardo is situated between the Mogiana and southern Minas Gerais regions of Brazil. An ideal combination of altitude, climate, and fertile soil produces high-quality beans with balanced acidity, medium body, and notes of chocolate, nuts, and a hint of stone fruit. Local farmers prioritize traditional and sustainable practices to protect the area's rich biodiversity.

Farm

The Monteiro Lobato blend is created through close collaboration between Ocafi and producers surrounding Fazenda Pinheiro. Maria Silva and Marco Guardabaxo acquired the farm in 2003 and planted 9.5 hectares of coffee four years later. The farm sits at 800–900 masl, with coffee plantations spread across flat plains and eucalyptus-covered hills.

Processing & Flavor

A blend of Bourbon, Mundo Novo & Catuaí varieties. The beans undergo a natural process, spending around 12 days drying on patios to enhance their sweetness and body. This is followed by 10 hours in mechanical dryers for precise moisture control. Finally, the beans rest for 15 days in wooden Tulhas silos, where their flavours stabilize and deepen. The result is a harmonious, sweet, and clean cup profile.
